Simple teeth care tips are not only important for your health but also for your external appearance. Good teeth and gums are the sign of good health and also they impart a completely new appeal to your personality. In the past teeth care was done by putting baking soda on fingers and cleaning teeth or wear wooden dentures. But now a days there are various assortment of dental care and dental health products to help you get rid of all that bacteria and plaque which are harmful for the gums. Teeth care is not only limited to brushing your teeth twice in a day, there are also many other things which you have to do for healthy teeth and gums.


Simple Teeth Care Tips

Everyone should follow the following simple teeth care tips for better, whiter and healthy teeth and gums:
Brushing:
First and foremost thing is to brush to teeth properly. In the morning first of all remove plaque and bacteria that is accumulated over night and last thing to do at night is also brushing because saliva dries up as we sleep. Use the toothbrush with small head and soft bristles. Hold the brush at 45 degree angle and set a timer of 2 minutes. Move the brush on each tooth in turn starting from one way. Clean all faces of teeth without missing any area and also brush the gums properly.
Mouthwash:
If you want to use a mouth wash then make sure that the mouth wash is alcohol free. Alcohol can dry out the mouth and is also an irritant. Alcohol will reduce the amount of saliva present in your mouth and will make the teeth more susceptible to bacteria. The benefit of mouthwash is that it can reach the areas where brush can not reach. So use mouthwash twice in a day, at morning and at night after brushing.
Flossing:
Use the dental floss to clean the areas in between the teeth where plaque collects. Use floss before brushing to remove any plaque from these areas. Approximately 90% of teeth problems arise from areas between the teeth so it is very important to floss effectively. Hold floss tightly between forefingers and thumbs and guide it between the teeth using a gentle sliding action. When floss reaches the place whee tooth meet gum, curve it into V shape against the tooth and gently slide it up and down between gum and tooth. Also repeat for the other side and every tooth. For larger gaps you can use an inter dental brush.
Tongue Cleaning:
One of the major causes of bad breath is the bacteria that build up on the tongue with percentage of it accumulating at the back, making it hard to reach. Use a proper tongue scraper every morning to remove the tongue plaque and freshen the breath. Daily tongue scraping will hep you to banish all harmful bacteria.
Fresh Breath:
There are many causes of bad breath, most common of them is poor oral care. When naturally occurring bacteria break down food debris and plaque in the mouth then Volatile Sulphur Compounds (VSC) are produced. By keeping plaque and debris in check bacteria will have lesser food and reproduce less frequently.
